EMPATHS Integrative Somatic Psychotherapy (EISP) Mentoring Program
With Dr. Lani Roy
The EMPATHS Integrative Somatic Psychotherapy (EISP) Mentoring Program offers:
Personalised, one-on-one guidance for multidisciplinary therapists. Designed to support both legal psychedelic-assisted therapy and non-medicine somatic processes, this mentorship provides a grounded, trauma-informed pathway for practitioners ready to deepen their clinical practice and treatment pathways for clients.
What is EISP?
EISP is a transdiagnostic therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Lani Roy and Melissa Warner. It can be used alongside medically prescribed cannabis or ketamine, or as a stand-alone, non-medicine modality. EISP engages with the autonomic nervous system, supporting deep psychological healing through the somatic, relational, transpersonal, and metacognitive domains.
Clients are supported to explore:
Parts work and Internal Family Systems
Shadow work and legacy burdens
Attachment modelling and trauma resolution
EISP integrates modern clinical theory with ancient wisdom traditions to support embodied emotional processing and long-term trait change.
EISP is guided by:
The EMPATHS model (Ethics, Metacognition, Potentiality, Agency, Transpersonal, Holistic, Somatics)
The SWIM model (Somatic, Wisdom, Interdependence, Metacognition)
Relational neuroscience, attachment repair, and embodied integration
What is the psychedelic part of EISP?
EISP may incorporate:
Medical cannabis, approved by the TGA for conditions such as ADHD, depression, and anxiety. Though not a classic psychedelic, cannabis has been shown to access unconscious memory and promote emotional insight.
Ketamine, often used for PTSD and complex trauma. Ketamine's dissociative properties may reduce bodily distress signals and psychological defenses, allowing for profound therapeutic exploration.
Both substances are used within legal, ethical, and regulated frameworks to support selective inhibition, trauma release, and integration.
Disclaimer: Anam Cara Centre does not prescribe psychedelic medicine and recommends consulting a GP or psychiatrist for medical advice. The Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) has not approved cannabis or ketamine for EISP. The GP and/or psychiatrist prescribes these medicines based on the client’s diagnosis and evidence-based treatment pathways already utilised. Dr Lani Roy is insured to work with clients therapeutically, utilising cannabis and ketamine, and does so with EISP.
Why somatic and relational?
EISP is rooted in the understanding that humans thrive through co-regulation and safe connection. Trauma often emerges from disrupted attachment and isolation, leading to autonomic dysregulation. This program helps rewire the nervous system’s ability to experience safety in connection.
Dr. Lani Roy supports clients in building secure attachment by embodying Dan Brown’s Five Pillars of Attachment throughout the therapeutic process:
Felt safety
Being seen and known (attunement)
Felt comfort (soothing)
Expressed delight (being valued)
Support to become your unique best self
